You all know I love me some good food! So when I travel, I’m always on the lookout for the best restaurants and most delicious food. Hilton Head had lots of great restaurants of pretty much every different type of food you could want. This list includes my favorite spots- if you are headed to Hilton Head, check out this list for where to eat and drink!
Where to go when you want a dock-side dining experience: Hudson’s Seafood House On The Docks
Hudson’s is a great casual spot that is right on the docks with a view of the Port Royal Sound from literally every table. The views are beautiful- it is a great spot to catch a sunset. The fish was fresh, the food was good and the drinks were amazing! I highly recommend the South Cackalacky Punch if you are looking for something sweet and refreshing to drink. I ordered the Almond Crusted Grouper which was absolutely delicious! Whether you just come for drinks or for dinner, Hudson’s is worth visiting for the casual atmosphere and fantastic views.
Where to go when you want to carbo-load at breakfast (aka eat pancakes and waffles): Stacks Pancakes
Stacks looks like your everyday pancake and breakfast joint from both the outside and the inside. While it isn’t fancy, it is delicious! The pancakes were so light and fluffy- I couldn’t stop eating them. I had the fruit pancakes which were topped with tons of berries and bananas. I was really glad we rode our bikes to Stacks after I ate so much there :).
Where to go when you want delicious seafood, but maybe also something French: Charlie’s L’etoile Verte
Charlie’s is the most charming restaurant. As you can see from the pictures, the outside is adorable with bistro lights, greenery and a large patio entrance. The inside is just as fantastic with green stars decorating the ceilings (L’etoile Verte means green star) and a country-French vibe to the décor. The menu is handwritten as it changes every day depending on what is in season and available. That is how you know the seafood is going to be beyond good! I had the pleasure of trying Carolina trout for the first time at Charlie’s. It was prepared with an almond and chive pesto that left my mouth watering for more.If it’s on the menu when you make it Charlie’s, I can’t recommend it enough!
Where to go when you want to hear the waves crash on the beach as you eat: Coast at The Sea Pines Beach Club
We were really excited to see The Sea Pines Beach Club after hearing good things for a few people. The property was gorgeous and located right on the beach. The huge outdoor dining area was a lovely spot to grab dinner. We started the meal by sharing the peel and eat shrimp which were well worth the mess :). I took a break from seafood for my entrée and had the filet which was cooked perfectly. Despite a few minor hiccups, including one not good margarita, we all loved our food at Coast and the view makes it a great place for dinner.
Where to go when you want to hear the waves crash on the beach as you drink (or pre or post dinner at Coast): Ocean Lounge at The Sea Pines Beach Club
The ambiance at Ocean Lounge is fabulous! Located on the second floor of the Sea Pines Beach club, it has both a large indoor lounge and a beautiful outdoor balcony space. We opted for a table with a fire pit outside for some post-dinner cocktails. Ocean Lounge was filled with couples that night (aside from us three girls haha!) and it definitely is a romantic spot to have a drink with your special someone. It’s a big enough spot though that it’s not the kind of place you feel awkward if you go with someone other than your love.
xoxo, Jenna
