Sweater Vest: Loft Top: Ann Taylor Pants: J.Crew Shoes: Frye Purse: Kate Spade Necklace: BaubleBar Bracelet: Loren Hope Lipstick: Nars Cruella

The sweater vest… I’m pretty sure when you hear those three words, cute isn’t the first word to come to mind. Grandpa or nerdy professor most likely come to mind quicker than cute. But this sweater vest from Loft is here to prove us all wrong and change our idea of sweater vests. It’s cozy, versatile and of course, cute. I love pairing it with an all black outfit, a few statement jewels and a bright lip for a classic look that really lets this vest shine. I also think it’d be super cute with a black skirt or dress to make it a bit fancier or over top my favorite fall plaid top for a fall-on-steroids look.

When I first caught sight of this top in stores, about a month ago, I immediately knew I had to have it for the weekend getaway MJD and I had planned to Vermont. This is a chronic habit of mine- I picture a piece of clothing at a certain occasion and then I save it to wear until that day, even if that means waiting weeks or months to wear it. This can get quite dangerous if you are a big shopper as you may forget what’s in your closer ;).  If you follow me on Instagram (what are you waiting for if you don’t?!?), you’ll know we spent this past weekend at the gorgeous Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester Village, Vermont, so I was finally able to wear my sweater vest. The resort is beautiful and I couldn’t resist snapping some photos in the main courtyard. Stay tuned for more pics from our weekend coming to the blog later this week…

Tell me… are you like me and buy and save clothes for certain occasions where you picture wearing them? Or do you wear new clothes right away when you buy them?

xoxo, Jenna

My family has a home in Manchester Center! I wish I’d known you were going as I would have given you SO many recommendations. I have that sweater and hadn’t styled it that way yet but love the idea! 🙂

Ah Ash, how did I not realize this? Now that you are saying it I think I remember you mentioning in a post before. We had a great weekend at The Equinox and likely will go back sometime so would love your recommendations! How have you styled the sweater? Would love to hear/see! xoxo!
