My Fall Beauty Faves

Fall Beauty Faves- Boston Chic Party-4

Even though it’s been a while since I’ve had a true “back to school” in the fall, the season always brings a sense of getting organized after summer and I still like to use it as an excuse stock up on new clothes and beauty products for the fall ahead. These five products are my faves from this fall season. I’d recommend them to any girl looking to try something new!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo– This dry shampoo has been a life changer for me, in that it has actually altered my morning routine at least 3 times per week. I had the opportunity to this product and receive a complimentary sample at a launch party for Boston Bloggers at the Living Proof style studio in Cambridge. Though I received my first bottle free, I’ve already purchased a second bottle- it was that good! During the event, we heard from one of  Living Proof’s product developers/scientists about the product and they talked about how one of their test events for the product was testing it out after a Soul Cycle class. I was a bit skeptical after they mentioned this. In the past, I’ve had the intention of styling my hair less often, but I do find it hard to keep up with both that and my workout schedule for the week. Living Proof’s dry shampoo left me feeling refreshed after a workout and like my hair was actually clean, not just covered in powder. I’ve become a convert and use it frequently to make my hair styles last longer. Another serious plus? It smells great! Unlike the many chemical-smelling dry shampoos I have used in the past, this one smells fresh and citrus-like… even MJD commented on how much better it smelled!

NARS Matte Lipstick Pencil in Cruella– The best red lip color ever… hands down! You’ve seen me wear it here, here and here, so I’m obviously obsessed. Since it’s a pencil, it goes on easily and doesn’t require the lip liner plus lipstick combo often used to achieve red lips. I love this shade for fall and also the upcoming holiday season. The red pop of color takes any outfit to the next level. I’m sure you’ll be seeing even more of this color soon.

NARS Blush in Seduction– I went in to Sephora looking for a more fall appropriate blush and after trying out this one, I was instantly hooked. It’s a bit more berry hued than the typical rosy blush I wear and I love having a bit more color for this time of year. It looks great on paler skin as summer tans fade away.

Bare Minerals Marvleous Moxie Lipstick in Raise The Bar–  A great fall color with a slight bit of shimmer, this color is a combination between berry and raisin to me. It is described by Bare Escentuals as having a pearly effect and this is something I love about the lipstick. It definitely has shine to it! I also love that it is loaded with moisturizing ingredients and vitamins to keep your pout looking good and preventing the dried out feeling some lipsticks leave.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment- Another product I received courtesy of Living Proof that I became a believer in after the first use. After my first time blow drying my hair straight with the 5-in-1 Styling Treatment, my co-workers asked me if I had gotten a blow out. It makes your blow outs better, all while keeping your hair protected from heat, healthy and volumized in one simple product! One thing to note- I’ve found this product works best (great in fact!) when blow drying hair straight, but it makes my hair a bit too silky for curling as I need a bit of texture to hold a curl in my hair.

What are your fall beauty faves? I’m always looking for new products to try!

xoxo, Jenna

My current obsession is regular old coconut oil! It’s my makeup remover, moisturizer, eye cream, deep conditioner, teeth whitener. . . I love it!

Love the NARS Cruella and the pencil is so awesome at lining my lips first. (Just learned I could sharp it as thought it was plastic base.)
Best part – a Sephora B-day gift! Got to love free #beauty for pop of lip color!

Seriously their best gift EVER! (And I’d been shopping/testing them – but hadn’t bought yet – It’s a Taylor Swift favorite too – though she likes the Dragon Girl – a little brighter red than Cruella. Sigh… red lip style!

Apparently she raves about it! Hey if I can’t sing like her, I can “try” to look a little like her… yeah well I can dream!

I need to try the overnight treatment again. I haven’t been too diligent with using it. Any tips for how best to use? xoxo!

I use probably 2 more pumps that it calls for and then really rub it into my roots before massaging it into my roots. It’s not time consuming, but it makes all the difference. Hugs, Kait
