The Beehive is one of my favorite spots in the South End, whether it’s for a pre-dinner cocktail, dinner or brunch. MJD and I went for brunch recently and were lucky enough to be there on a beautiful day where we got to sit in the gorgeous outside seating area. The only downside to the outside seating was missing the live jazz music being played inside as part of The Beehive’s jazz brunch!
We started with some drinks- a Bloody Mary for him and a Queen Bee for me. Even though I’m sure the bee in the drink name was referring to the restaurant, I can’t resist a drink name that pays tribute to Beyonce! The Queen Bee was as delicious as Beyonce herself ;)- made with vodka, grapefruit juice and champagne. I would definitely recommend it for any grapefruit lovers.
We’ve had the shortrib on the dinner menu before and loved it, so we wanted to try the shortrib benedict. There was a ton of shortrib on the eggs benedict! We also ordered the quiche with butternut squash, kale and carmelized onions. Both were great, but we liked the benedict better.
Hope you’ll have a brunch date of your own at The Beehive soon!
