There’s nothing like a rich, decadent mug of hot cocoa on a cold winter night. Oh and don’t forget to load it with mini marshmallows! 🙂
Today I’m sharing with you a recipe that’s so easy I have a hard time calling it a recipe. It’s literally just three ingredients. The homemade hot cocoa mix makes a super cute gift though when added to a mason jar. So I wanted to share in case you are in need of a easy, but delicious holiday gift. I added wrapping paper to the top of my mason jar to make it more festive and also used a cute gift tag with preparation instructions on the back.
Don’t worry though if you just want to make this for yourself, you’ll be thanking me for the gift of hot chocolate!
xoxo, Jenna
You’ll Need:
- 1 and 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 and 1/4 cups unsweetened cocoa
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Mini marshmallows
- Mason jar (if giving as gift)
- Wrapping paper (if giving as gift)
- Gift tag (if giving as gift)
To Make:
Combine sugar, cocoa and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Fill up mason jar about 3/4 of the way with hot cocoa mix. Recipe above will make enough for two jars.
Top with marshmallows.
Cut a piece of wrapping paper in the size of your mason jar lid. Add to lid for decoration.
On a gift tag, add instructions for use: “Add two tablespoons of mix to a mug of hot milk and stir to enjoy”. Attach to mason jar.
Give to your hot chocolate loving friend!
If enjoying yourself, skip to the instructions written on the gift tag to prepare and make sure you garnish with lots of mallows.
I’m crazy about chocolates. Lovely treat!
