Happy Friday! Besides watching the Patriots game on Saturday and the Golden Globes on Sunday, I’m really looking forward to getting my work out on at btone fitness this weekend. Boston ladies, I’m so excited to tell you more about btone!
After hearing lots of good things about btone from my sister-in-law and aunt, I was excited to try out one of their classes. Just before Christmas, I went to btone’s Back Bay studio (they also have locations in the Boston area ‘burbs) to try their signature “Tone” class. After my first class at btone, I was seriously hooked!
The Tone class is primarily on a Megaformer- what btone refers to as the next evolution of a Pilates Reformer. I was shaking withing minutes of the class starting. The class focuses on strengthening and toning your entire body. The movements are Pilates-inspired with emphasis on controlled movements. While some of the moves may at first seem like they could be easy, using the Megaformer, you will every one of the movements so much more! Trust me, I was so sore for a few days after that it seriously hurt to laugh… (embarrassed emoji face…)
If you are planning to try btone, one piece of advice- When you walk into the room and see all the Megaformers there, it’s easy to be a bit intimidated and worried about how to use the equipment. Don’t be! The instructors that I have had are super nice and at my first class, Emily, my instructor, gave me a great demo before class so I was prepared. Picking up what to do is actually much easier than it looks and you’ll get constant cues, so don’t be scared!
What are your plans for the weekend? Are you trying out any new workouts or classes in Boston or your town to start off 2015?
xoxo, Jenna
