Buttery yellow cupcakes topped with rich and fudgy milk chocolate frosting make a delicious, but classic dessert that’s much better homemade than from the box.
This past weekend was MJD’s birthday. We had a super fun weekend celebrating with friends and family. Saturday called for brunch with family followed by some friendly bowling competitions and a fun dinner with friends. On his actual birthday, Sunday, we spent most of the day watching the new season of House of Cards and spent the night having a delicious dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Coppa.
For as long as we’ve been dating, I’ve always helped MJD celebrate his birthday by making his favorite cupcake- yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Over the past few years, I’ve definitely had time to perfect my recipe of this classic birthday treat. My Yellow Cupcakes are light and buttery. My Milk Chocolate Frosting is decadent and fudge-like, making it the perfect topping for these cupcakes. Sure, you can make yellow cupcakes from a box, but why would you want to when the homemade version is so much better? Just one bite of my Yellow Cupcakes With Milk Chocolate Frosting and I’m sure you’ll agree that they are much better than the box!
Does anyone in your family or one of your friends have a dessert that they always eat on their birthday? I’d love to hear about your birthday traditions and favorite sweets!
xoxo, Jenna
