Kicking off wedding season in Aspen
June- the start of summer, wedding season and also outdoor drinking season!
Summer really is a catch-22 for us Bostonians. The weather is finally nice, so we want to take advantage of it, by packing up and heading out of the city to the beach, to the lake or even to the golf course (MJD will be so proud of me for that one 😉 ). The flip side is that this is such an amazing time of year to enjoy the city. No snow in the way to slow you down or keep you inside. There are less students in town (though there are more tourists), so the Newbury Street sidewalks are just a bit less crowded.
After our long winter, I’m fully committed to making the most of my summer, including both travelling and Beantown fun. If we’re away for a weekend, I’m making that extra effort to grab dinner or drinks outside one night that week. If I’m in town for the weekend, I’m planning to spend as much of it soaking in the city as best I can. I even started making a mental bucket list of things I want to do around town this summer. Some of the things on my list include picnics, outdoor yoga classes and harborside lobster rolls… What’s on your summer bucket list?
What I’m watching: The HBO Sunday Night line-up. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- it’s the best night of television ever! This past month Game of Thrones had me cheering, crying and at the end, kind of left me seriously depressed. I can’t believe we have another year to wait for it to start up again! With True Detective starting last week, we’ve got another show to get engrossed in and maybe just maybe, it will help me forget about Jon Snow. #doubtful What’s your favorite HBO show?
What I’m reading: Right now, I’m reading At the Water’s Edge, written by Sara Gruen who wrote Water For Elephants. I’ll keep you posted on how I like it. I also just got Yes Please by Amy Poehler in the mail as a gift from the Google Express team. Can’t wait to get into that one! What are you reading right now?
My favorite post this month: The most viewed post this month was my photo diary from Hilton Head. This post definitely is towards the top of my list, since it was such a trip to remember! But I think I have to say the favorite posts I shared this month were my two new fashion posts (see them here and here). I’ve been wanting to try sharing more of my personal style so was really proud to do that in June. Did you have a favorite post?
What I’m looking forward to next month: 4th of July at the beach with family, a friend’s bachelorette party, my first concert of the summer! What are you looking forward to most in July?
xoxo, Jenna
I love summer so much that it stresses me out! I want to make sure I am enjoying every moment so hoping for beach days, boating, and lots of gardening and grilling.
