Happy July! I seriously cannot believe it’s already July 1st… where is this year/summer going?
Fourth of July in Boston is always super fun. As one of the oldest cities in the U.S., the city is bursting with history and patriotic pride all year round, let alone for the Fourth. The highlight of any Fourth of July in Boston is the Boston Pops and Fireworks. Playing from the Esplanade, the Pops Orchestra puts on an amazing show, which only gets better with the addition of beautiful fireworks to close off the evening. MJD and I have had the chance to experience the show a few times- both picnic style on the Esplanade and from a roof deck in Back Bay. There really is no other Fourth of July celebration like it!
While this year we’ll be missing the main event to spend the long weekend at the beach with family, I wanted to share with you the perfect outfit for a picnic for the Pops. There’s no avoiding red, white and blue for this holiday! I really love all the pieces in this outfit- both together and on their own. While together they make for one cute, casual patriotic look, each piece is super versatile and I’ll wear them a lot on their own.
I really had fun wearing this bucket purse for the first time with this outfit. As with most trendy things, I try to avoid making a big investment in them until I know I really love it. The Ann Taylor Signature Mini Bucket Bag let me try out the bucket bag trend without breaking the bank. I have a feeling a lot of people had the same idea as this bag is now sold out! Don’t worry though, it’s still available in a snakeskin version, as well as a larger, similar version I linked above.
Are you like me and like to try out trends before you invest?
xoxo, Jenna
