Flashing back on this Friday to a few weekends ago when I visited the gorgeous Willow Creek Winery in adorable Cape May, New Jersey. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I was down in Cape May for one of my good girlfriend’s bachelorette parties a few weeks ago. When I saw the vineyard visit on the weekend agenda, I was so excited! I’ve never really been to a vineyard before and have been dying to.
We were all seriously impressed with Willow Creek from the moment we drove up. The main drive is stunning, with the owner’s home surrounded by rows grape trees and a long winding driveway that leads back to the winery and tasting area. Entering the tasting area was also breathtaking- the rustic vaulted, barn ceilings were perfectly juxtaposed by the sparkling chandeliers. We had a big group of 18 girls, but our guide handled us well- giving just enough detail about the wine and letting us have fun at the same time. We tasted some delicious wines- my favorite was the sangria. Also, many of us were wishing it was fall after she described a pumpkin wine which sounds drop dead amazing! Post-tasting we hung out, explored the inside and outdoor areas and indulged in a wine slushie. Whoa- that thing was good!
If you are in the Cape May area and looking for something fun to do, whether it’s on a rainy day or for a special celebration, I would definitely recommend a visit to Willow Creek. They also offer yoga in the vineyard, which is now officially on my bucket list of things to try in my lifetime. Promise me, if you go in the fall, please try the pumpkin wine for me!
