Life Lately, Volume 10

Life Lately-Boston Chic Party-3

Whoa, November… you went by way too fast!  Every time I sit down to write my monthly Life Lately post, I’m in shock at how quickly the month flew by. But I really think this month went the fastest! With the first few weekends of the month spent travelling and a really hectic month at work, Thanksgiving completely snuck up on me.

I love this time of year- and all the fun celebrations with family and friends that come with it! We spent Thanksgiving locally and had a great day with family and an awesome dinner with friends the night before. So many of our friends have moved into the South End making us love living here even more! Planning on spending the rest of our long weekend getting organized and decorating for Christmas with some date nights, like going to see Hunger Games thrown in.

How are you spending your Thanksgiving weekend?

What I’m reading: Been making good progress on my Fall Reading list ! I checked After You off the list- while it was good and a quick read, I definitely liked Me Before You better. I strayed a bit from my list and read Just Kids by Patti Smith which had been recommended to me by a friend a while ago. It isn’t a book I normally would reach for, but it was really interesting to read a bit about Patti Smith and Robert Maplethorpe. I really want to make a visit to The Guggenheim now to see some of his work in person.  I’m in the midst of reading Go Set A Watchman now and will keep you posted on how I like it. What have you been reading this fall?

What I’m watching: Homeland is one of my all-time favorite shows and this season is no different. MJD and I are totally sucked into it. Also, we caught up on the Hunger Games series to keep up with our Thanksgiving tradition of seeing the newest Hunger Games movie. Do you like The Hunger Games movies?

What I’m making: Today’s a rainy day so I’m doing a bit of baking including my White Chocolate Chip and Cranberry Cookies. I’ll also have a new cookie recipe coming your way soon… 🙂

What I’m looking forward to in December: It’s the most wonderful time of the year… I can’t wait for anything and everything Christmas! Seeing the city decorated in greenery and lights, a night at the Pops, Beacon Hill Stroll, Christmas parties, a roaring 20s party for my two girlfriends’ 30th and a winter wedding!

What are you most looking forward to about the holiday season?

xoxo, Jenna

That’s awesome- glad hosting went well! If only I was a better skier, I would look forward to that too 😉 But I am killer at the apres ski!
