Happy 2016, friends!
Hope you had a great New Year’s Eve! We closed out a super fun month and exciting year with dinner and drinks with some friends in our neighborhood. Living in the South End with so many restaurants is really perfect for nights like New Year’s Eve so you don’t have to worry about Uber’s surge pricing and all that jazz.
December flew by with lots of holiday parties, a Roaring 20s themed birthday party for two of my girlfriends and a winter wedding. I’m really sad to see the Christmas season go and am a bit depressed to be taking down our tree today. That thing is super dead though!
MJD and I spent some time yesterday talking about the year and there are so many fun times from 2015 to reflect on. Our first anniversary trip to Paris was definitely at top of the list for both of us. I can’t wait for what 2016 has in store!

What I’m watching: So many movies out, so little time. Over the holidays, MJD and I saw The Big Short which I thought was very interesting. You’ll especially love it if you work in finance or if you have friends that do. Today, I’m doing my good wifey duty and going to see Star Wars- so we will see how that is. I also really want to see Joy and The Danish Girl. What movies have you seen recently?
What I’m listening to: Serial is back! MJD and I started this season on our drive home for the holidays. I have to admit I was hooked a bit more with the first season, but I’m really intrigued by the Beau storyline and where it’s headed next. Do you listen to Serial?
What I’m reading: Since my last life lately post, I finished Go Set A Watchmen and to be honest, I didn’t love it. I’m glad I read it, but To Kill A Mockingbird is so much better. I also read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up which is perfect for getting ready for those cleaning resolutions 😉 and The Little Paris Bookshop which I bought based on the name alone and ended up really liking. I’m hoping to read more often in the new year, so would love to know… What’s your favorite recent read?
My favorite post this month: My year in review round-up, duh! Check out this post for all my faves from the past year. What would you like to see on Boston Chic Party in 2016?
What I’m looking forward to in January: With the holiday rush coming to an end, I’m looking forward to some quiet nights at home and a bit more relaxation. I’m also kicking off the year with a month of no clothes shopping and will be detailing how I shop my own closet, along with some blogger friends here all month. What are you looking forward to in January?
Wishing you a happy, healthy New Year filled with family, friends and love!
xoxo, Jenna

Great post – I loved the book section. I too did not care for Go Set a Watchman.
Did you read Girl on a Train? I enjoyed that more – both were crazy popular at the same time so I “Had” to read both. My genre is primarily mystery, but I did reach my goal of 5 NF books this year. Most interesting was CandyFreak by Stephen Almond – it’s kind of a history about chocolate. (I was looking at a candy co. job and wanted to learn more – definitely filled with info I could use and if you like chocolate (I’m actually not a fan) you’ll enjoy.
Here’s to many more posts in the new year. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to post as often as you. Keep up the great posts! – k

I did read Girl on The Train and liked that too, K! I’ll have to check out Candy Freak- that sounds very good and like it will make me hungry 🙂 Happy New Year! xoxo!
Happy New Year to you!
I did not read Girl on a Train! I’ll definitely add that one. My non fiction ones recently have been about the start of Starbucks. Super fascinating! Working in a chocolate company would be so different- I’d feel like Willie Wonka. Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing your comment! Happy New Year! Hugs, Kait

Thanks Kiki 🙂 Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I hear you on the Christmas tree. . . I am trying to make ours last until January 6, but it is fading fast.
Love the dress! We’ve read some awesome books in book club lately: Luckiest Girl Alive (twisted, but it ended up being a good read), The Kitchen House (awesome story!) and most recently Me Before You and then After You- both of which were amazing! Our newest is Cuckoo’s Calling, which sounds awesome.

I loved Me Before You (so many tears!) and I liked After You, but a bit less than the original. Luckiest Girl Alive is on my list and I’ll have to add the others now. Thanks lady!
