Life Lately, Volume 13

A bit behind on my Life Lately post for February, but better late than never right?

February, the month of love, was a super fun one! Starting with a black-tie gala for MJD’s work (see my look here) and then followed up with a delish Valentine’s Day weekend including Miam Miam Macarons and a super tasty dinner at Townsman. After it was named one of the best new restaurants that opened in 2015, it immediately went on my must-try list.  Valentine’s Day- which could have been a hit or miss day to try it out-was our first visit there and it was fabulous.

Around the time of my birthday last year, I started a 30 before 30 list and trying one “new-to-me” restaurant a month was on the list. Besides Townsman, I tried out two delish spots for Sunday brunch with girlfriends- The Friendly Toast and Steel & Rye. Both were amazing and I have a feeling I’ll be hitting up The Friendly Toast’s Back Bay location pretty frequently 🙂 Do you have a bucket list of restaurants you want to try like me?

A highlight for February was co-hosting a Blog Barreless event with Crane & Lion and Jessica Diaz. It was so fun to catch up with Boston blogger friends over a barre class and do some shopping too. Check out these recaps of the event from Amanda, Kristin, Ellie and Kate- thanks ladies for coming! What were some of your highlights for February?

Luckiest Girl Alive- Neutral bedding- West Elm- Boston Chic Party-1

What I’m Reading: Checked Luckiest Girl Alive off my winter reading list this past month and it was awesome! It’s a fast read, perfect for easy weeknight reading or a vacation read. It didn’t hurt that a lot of the book was based near where I grew up making it super interesting for me. Did you have any good reads during February?

What I’m Watching: Who else is pumped for House of Cards returning? Can’t wait to binge once we get home from our trip to Florida. MJD and I started watching Vinyl this month- and while I’m usually a big fan of the Sunday night HBO line up, jury is still out for me on this one. We also caught up on some movies during a few chilly February nights- The Intern was a super cute chick flick (I love Anne Hathaway!) and  Straight Outta Compton was really interesting, seriously great acting and of course had amazing music. I’d recommend both! What have you been watching this month?

What I’m Making: Still trying to change things up for our week night dinners and was feeling in bit of a chicken rut. This pork chop recipe from Giada was a great add into the rotation.

My Favorite February posts: This winter neutral look, MJD’s birthday party and Strawberry Lemonade Sangria that had me dreaming of summer. Did you have a fave post on BCP this month?

What I’m looking forward to in March: The month started off in an amazing way with MJD’s birthday on the first and a trip to Amelia Island right after that. Excited to see some Spring weather in Boston soon (fingers crossed…) What are you looking forward to in March?

xoxo, Jenna

Have you been to Mistral? It’s my FAVORITE restaurant in Boston. They have great French food there! So many good restaurants in Boston, that’s such a cool challenge!

Great recap! Luckiest Girl Alive was a good book! We just read Cuckoo’s Calling for book club which was awesome, although it took me a while to get into it. We are now reading Silkworm, which is the sequel. I loved your winter white look and all of your drink recipes this month looked drool-worthy! I love your idea of keeping a restaurant bucket list- we are always talking about restaurants we want to try, but always end up at the same places. We need to do that! have a great day!

We do the same thing when we go out to eat! So hopefully this will help 🙂 I put Luckiest Girl Alive on my list thanks to you! It was so funny I found out when I picked it up that the author grew up near me! Small World! Cuckoo’s Calling will go on the list now too! Thanks for the recs, girlie!
