My Summer Reading List

My Summer Reading List- Beach Essentials- Boston Chic Party-1Sunglasses: Randolph (c/0) Bag: Loft Swimsuit: Bond-Eye Australia  via TJ Maxx (similar here and here)

Happy 4th of July, y’all!

I don’t know about you, but I’m spending the long weekend (actually the entire week) at the beach and there is nothing I love more than a sunny beach day with a good book. In case you are vaca-ing this week too, I’ve rounded up the list of books I’m hoping to read this summer.

Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld– When I saw Sittenfeld had a new book coming out, I was super excited as I’ve liked her prior ones. Once I knew it was a modern retelling of one of my all-time faves, Pride & Prejudice, I couldn’t wait to pick it up.

Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica-My mom recommended this one after we both loved Kubica’s The Good Girl. This was the first book I checked off my list and it did not disappoint. If you are a fan of Gone Girl/Girl On The Train type books, you should add this to your list.

In The Name of Gucci by Patricia Gucci- Because every summer needs at least one fashion related read, this one about Aldo Gucci as told by his daughter is on my list.

The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney- This book is on lots of summer reading lists I’ve seen this summer and I’m equally intrigued. It’s about four adult siblings, their trust fund and family drama. Sounds like a summer read if you ask me.

Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler- A coming-of-age novel set in New York City and in the city’s restaurant scene, this summer bestseller looks like a great read.

Cravings by Chrissy Teigen- Okay, so maybe it isn’t an actual “read”, but now that we are in our new place, I want to dive into this cookbook and make some yummy eats this summer.

What’s on your summer reading list?

xoxo, Jenna

I just finished Don’t You Cry (Mary Kubica). It was good but I didn’t like it as much as The Good Girl. I think after I switch it up a but, I will read Pretty Baby. Right now I am reading Moloka’i – it’s old – from 2004 that I randomly found on my Mom’s bookshelf when my Kindle died. It’s an incredible read.

That sounds like an amazing book- I love when you pick something up randomly and it sucks you in! Let me know how you like Pretty Baby- The Good Girl is still my favorite by Kubica, but I really liked this one as well.

Jenna, I just popped over to check out your blog and realized that I purchased the same bathing suit from TJMaxx as yours. It fits like a charm, doesn’t it?! Since swimsuit shopping is always hit or miss for me, I purchased another print from this same designer.

Yes! I love this suit too! I am actually wearing it at the beach today 🙂 Glad you love it too!

Love your picks! The Nest is next on my list as well, can’t wait to hit the beach this weekend and start it. I’m currently trying to get through the Luckiest Girl Alive and having the toughest time. Have you read it?

I am reading Arianna Huffington’s “Strive,” as well as “The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing.” It is supposed to be kind of a female Catcher and the Rye.
