The refreshing rum cocktail gets a summer twist with the addition of blueberries in this blueberry mojito.

Happy National Rum Day!

I’m not usually one to drink rum (much more of a vodka girl), but there is something super refreshing about a mojito. It’s an awesome cocktail for summer and I love how you can easily customize with other complimentary flavors for a twist on the classic. When I heard that rum day was coming up, I thought it’d be fun to try my hand at a mojito with one of my favorite summer fruits-blueberries.

Do you guys want to hear a funny story about what happened while I was making these cocktails? Well, let’s just say my clumsy side kicked in and I ended up spilling an entire pint of blueberries all over the floor. Those little suckers rolled around everywhere. I was still finding them two days later!

If you want to celebrate National Rum Day for yourself, mojitos are very easy to make at home on your own. Just don’t copy me entirely and hold on to your berries tight 😉 . My Blueberry Mojito is the perfect summer cocktail to make at home: it’s refreshing, light and it looks pretty impressive for your guests too!

Cheers and once again, Happy Rum Day!

xoxo, Jenna

This looks delicious, Jenna! I’m not much of a rum girl myself (tequila please!) but I was around a mint flower that smelt just like a mojita this weekend and made me want one 🙂
