Most Friday nights MJD and I spend at home having a date night in. When I had the chance to partner with Tiny Tags, I knew I wanted to show off a bit more of what we love as a couple while showing off their beautiful anniversary necklace. Their necklaces make a perfect gift for anniversaries or any other holiday- oh and they have a whole bunch of jewelry options for moms too, which would make a perfect gift for all the mamas you know too. After a long work week and often hectic schedules, we love the chance to reconnect on Fridays with a date night at home, so I thought I’d show you a little peek into ours. It is really easy to fall into the trap of letting “date night in” feel like any other night at home, however. These are a few of tips for making sure your at home date night still feels like a date:
1. Take your time with dinner by having a cocktail hour first or making something a bit more special. I don’t know about you but after work my strategy is to make the quickest dinner possible. On our Friday nights, I typically do the opposite- dragging out our dinner either by starting with a cocktail hour of snacks (who doesn’t love wine & cheese) or making a dinner I wouldn’t normally cook during the week. It adds just a little something to the night to make it special.
2. Wear something comfy, but still cute (aka actual clothes and not PJs). Again, not sure about everyone else, but when I get home from work most days I either change right into pajamas or yoga pants (#badfashionblogger). With so many cute and comfy options out there, finding a cute sweater and leggings look for your date night in should be super easy. I loved my comfy look here paired with my Tiny Tags necklace engraved with our wedding anniversary date. It’s such a special piece that makes me happy whenever I put it on!
3. Indulge in a special treat or cocktail. Food or drinks are the best way to celebrate in my opinion, so it’s no surprise I like to end the week with my guy in this way. Whether it is a dessert from your favorite bakery or a nice bottle of champagne, this definitely makes sure the date night in isn’t like just your typical night at home.
4. Take out the “special stuff” for your night in. Having dinner on your china or using your wedding toasting flutes like we did here automatically makes things feel special since you wouldn’t normally do that everyday.
Of course, don’t forget to cuddle up, light some candles and just enjoy the time with your special someone 🙂
xoxo, Jenna
Friday nights are usually spent in for me too, even living with my boyfriend I feel we’re both so busy during the week we really need time to re-connect and catch up! Such a cute post!! Also, love your living room and that coffee table!! Happy Monday, Jenna!

Thanks Amanda! Perfect for that – maybe after they go to sleep? 🙂 xoxo!
great tips! and your home looks beautiful!! We do date night in a few times a month and it’s fun to do a cocktail hour and then making a real meal- we go by the the same thing you do (something we don’t normally make during the week) and it makes it feel special! Last weekend we did a date night out at Bastille kitchen and it was SO GOOD!
