About two weeks ago I had the chance to attend theCancer Center’s Couture For Cancer Fashion Show. It was a beautiful evening held at the Boston Park Plaza and featuring some truly great clothing from local boutiques modeled by patients of the Cancer Center and their doctors. The show was hosted by local Boston television personality, Jenny Johnson who kept things fun while also filling the crowd in about all the great services the Friends of Mass General Cancer Center fund.
Following my visit there and in the spirit of the holiday season of giving, I wanted to share with you a few of the amazing things this organization does. The Friends of Mass General Cancer Center’s are volunteers who are dedicated to helping patients at the center through innovative programs that focus on treating the whole person. Reiki massage, yoga, art therapy and a healing garden for patients to visit are just two examples of how The Friends help those being treated at the center. During the fashion show presentation, we had the chance to hear from many people who went through treatment there and they all said these extra services really made a difference in their quality of life during treatment. It truly was amazing and inspirational to hear- I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, mine certainly weren’t.

PS- It’s quiet frivolous to say in a post about something as impactful as cancer, but the night was also about fashion and what makes people feel good so I’m saying it…you can see what I wore to the fashion show here.
xoxo, Jenna
