Have you ever started a DIY project or recipe that just did not turn out the way you thought it would? I’m sure this has happened to all of us. This past weekend I had planned to give my green smoothie recipe a makeover into a bit thicker version as a smoothie bowl. Well, for a number of different reasons, it did not go as planned. I couldn’t get the consistency quite how I wanted and I added some berries which took the color from a nice green to a not so nice color.
I was hoping/planning on sharing the recipe as a blog post if it worked out, so I was definitely a bit disappointed. I am a bit of a perfectionist (or maybe the word for it is OCD…) so when things don’t go the way I plan, I often get upset. For the new year, I’m trying to let go a little bit and this failed smoothie bowl recipe was the perfect lesson. So what I didn’t get the picture perfect smoothie bowl I wanted- it still tasted good ;).
One thing that will always work out perfectly? Any outfit with these shoes– Seriously obsessed! MJD surprised me with these under the Christmas tree. It was an amazing Christmas morning surprise! I paired them with some other blush accessories to give a basic black shirt and jeans look a pop.
Help me out here- does anyone else suffer from getting super tied to their plans? Do you have any tricks or tips to help me let go and not get upset if plans go awry?
xoxo, Jenna
Love these shoes!

Thanks! You are the best secret shopping helper 😉
Those shoes are EVERYTHING! Well done, MJD!
I find that the older I get, the more allow myself to be upset/have a pity party for a hot minute (only!), then laugh and move on from it. At the end of the day, as we all know, the only things that truly matter are health (in all its forms), love, and basic needs being met. Everything else is frosting! Keeping that in perspective is something I constantlyyy have to remind myself of, so don’t beat yourself up over needing to do that either. Being zen is a neverending journey haha!
Much love, D

Danielle, pity party is the perfect word haha! But yes limiting that pity party time is essential! Thanks for the sweet comment, girl 🙂 xoxo!

Yes- those shoes make everything better! I hate to hear about the smoothie bowl, but I love your perspective on how to let things go and give ourselves a break. However, the photos were a perfect replacement.
