Back with another #WorkWednesday outfit post (catch the last one here) – and I am starting to think I should make these posts a monthly thing. Since I spend most of my days in an office, I often get super bored with my outfit options. No matter what it just seems like I reach for the same things every Monday through Friday. The Style My Closet January Challenge is definitely helping with that though and by documenting my outfits each day I’m thinking of new things to wear or new ways to wear things.
This layered look is a perfect example of how the Style My Closet Challenge has inspired me to wear something different. If I wear a dress in the winter, more often than not, I reach for a cardi to layer over top to make it weather appropriate. For a new take on it, I layered one of my fave button up shirts under the dress for a pulled together #officeootd. Totally loving how this ended up and am now thinking of how many more outfits I can make by putting layers underneath dresses!
Two questions for you, friends- do you like seeing my office outfits and should I keep sharing them? Have you ever layered a shirt under a dress- what did you think?
xoxo, Jenna
I enjoy seeing all your outfits- work and casual. For me, dressing for work can be the biggest challenge, particularly when it’s cold so please do keep posting!

Aw thank you SO much, Allie! Your comment totally made my day! I’ll keep it up 🙂
I never thought about layering a shirt under a dress. It’s a great idea! Very pretty. I work in an office and struggle with trying new outfit combinations so I’d love to see more posts.

Kayla, thanks so much for your sweet comment! I’ll definitely keep it up- I’m guessing a lot of us work in offices, just the other kind of fashion is more fun 😉 The layering is a great way to re-wear a dress another time- just be careful your shirt doesn’t bunch up too much underneath. This one was kind of hard because of the embroidered dots (you can maybe see a few peeking out through the dress), but I still liked how it looks!
Yes, keep these up, please! I think we all definitely fall into a 9-5 rut and the outfits aren’t always as exciting as our evening and weekend wear. I LOVE how you layered this though! I am a fan of each piece individually, but it just works even better as a look. Brava!
