Some days my motivation to plan a cute outfit for the office is really lacking. When I’m feeling lazy like this, I pretty much always reach for a cardigan and pair it with some black pants. It’s easy and it doesn’t take much time to think. That’s why I instantly LOVE this polka dot cardi and striped shell set from Talbots. Even if you are feeling a bit uninspired in the clothing department, you can easily upgrade your basic cardigan and black pants look to something cute with their built in pattern mixing! The black and white color combo also makes it easy and fun to add in pops of color- I focused on reds and pinks with the gorgeous silk scarf (also from Talbots) and my fave bow pumps (please bring them back in more colors!).
What’s even better than the built in pattern mixing is that the cardigan, tank and scarf are all part of Talbots collaboration with Oprah Magazine to benefit Dress for Success! If you aren’t familiar with Dress for Success, this international organization empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire to wear to interviews and new jobs, in addition to career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Last year Talbots and Oprah Magazine launched the first collection which raised $1 million and over 4,000 boxes of clothes donated to the cause. 30% of the proceeds from the Talbots items I am wearing in this post (plus the other items in the nine piece collection) will go to Dress for Success with a goal of helping over 20,000 women!
In other news, we are prepping for a big snow storm here tomorrow so I’m sending all my spring vibes out into the universe in hopes that spring will finally arrive and that I can wear this look without worrying about being too cold!
What’s your go-to easy outfit to wear to the office?
