Having a few drinks while learning a new skill seems to be all the rage these days. Enter the newest cocktails and class event on the scene- Sip and Script calligraphy classes. Sip and Script is a pop-up calligraphy class held in local bars and restaurants that brings people together to have a fun time and yes, learn the basics of calligraphy. The ladies behind Sip and Script, Julie and Meg, are both calligraphers who decided to start the classes together after meeting at a wedding fair.
A few weeks ago I had the chance to join a class with some of my favorite blogger friends right here in my neighborhood at Neatly Nested (only the cutest home décor store in the city!). Sip and Script founders and hostesses with the mostests, Julie and Meg led us for a fun night of cocktailing and calligraphy. I don’t always have the best handwriting so I was a bit intimidated going into the class, but I found it to be a lot of fun and ended up making a few cute gift tags and cards. Julie and Meg are both super patient and have the class set up in a way that makes it easier for beginners to learn. We started off using tracing paper and that definitely gave me a good confidence boost. If only I could use it all the time 😉
All of us ladies had so much fun at the class and couldn’t help but comment how fun it would be for a girls’ night out. Taking the class in the adorable Neatly Nested with flowers from Fleur Events and cocktails by my girl Kate only added to the amazing night! If you are interested in taking a Sip and Script class for yourself, head on over and check out their schedule of events. Trust me when I say these classes are such a fun and unique girls night that you and your friends will talk about for a long time!
