What I Wore in Lake Como

If you’ve already read my Bellagio travel guide (or followed me on Instagram stories during our trip), you know MJD and I recently got back from a  trip to Italy. Our first stop was Lake Como with our headquarters in the absolutely adorable town of Bellagio. It really was like something right out of a postcard. Loved it! While we were there the weather was a bit all over the place- some sun, some rain, some clouds, some thunderstorms- as you can probably tell from the pics coming up. Being near the water, I did pack a bunch of blue (surprise surprise!) for the Como portion of our trip. You know I love me some blue outfits! Instead of doing several different outfit posts from our trip (and to spare my lovely hubby from having to take a million photos 😉 ), I thought it’d be fun to do a round up of what I wore each day of our trip instead. Here’s what I wore during our three day stay on Lake Como:

Day 1- Pool Day and Exploring Bellagio. Top: J.Crew (also comes in solid colors!) Skirt: J.Crew Purse: Gucci Shoes: Sam Edelman Earrings: SugarFix by Bauble Bar (my first purchase from the Target BaubleBar line and I love them!) Belt: Ann Taylor (Old, similar linked here) Sunglasses: J.Crew Lips: Nars Cruella

We spent most of our first day soaking up the sun since the forecast for the rest of our stay didn’t look that great. We headed into town in the late afternoon to explore, some pre-dinner drinks and dinner. I loved the nautical-ish vibe of this look for our first day on the lake.

Day 2Sightseeing in Bellagio. Dress: J.Crew Shoes:Sam Edelman Bracelet: Kendra Scott Watch: Daniel Wellington (c/o) Earrings: J.Crew Lips: Nars Chihuahua

This day had probably the craziest weather- woke up to some serious thunderstorms and rain, but it cleared up after lunch and ended up being quite sunny. It was still really windy though and a lot of the boats/ferries weren’t running so we continued exploring Bellagio for the day and got to see the gardens at Villa Melzi, one of my fave stops of our trip. It cooled down a bit in the evening so I threw a denim jacket on top of the dress for an additional layer later on.

Day 3– Boat ride and day trip to Como. Shirt: J.Crew Jeans: Loft Shoes: Sam Edelman Purse: Gucci Earrings: Ann Taylor (similar here)

This day was the coldest, but we were determined to visit another city one of the days. I hadn’t really planned to wear these two items together, but had packed both the shirt and jeans as “basics” and it ended up being necessary for this chilly day. Seeing the villages of Lake Como from the water was amazing!

Night 3– Dinner and Drinks in Bellagio. Dress: Shoshanna Shoes: Vince Camuto Earrings: Ann Taylor (similar here) Lips: Nars Cruella

I had packed this gorgeous Shoshanna dress with hopes of wearing it from day (with flat sandals) to night with heels. It was too chilly to wear during the day on our last day, but I was determined to wear it and wore it on our last night for dinner. This dress is super pretty and would be great for a fall cocktail party, a more casual wedding or just for a nice night out. It mixes blue, black and white making it easy to accessorize.

What’s your favorite look from our time in Bellagio? Mine is probably the first striped off the shoulder top look or the dress I wore for our last night!
xoxo, Jenna
