Why You Need a Cape Dress For Wedding Season

Dress: Leota (c/o) Shoes: Christian Louboutin Purse: Tory Burch (just removed strap to wear as a clutch!) Earrings: BaubleBar Lips: Christian Dior Rouge Lipstick in 999

This year was the first in a couple where we didn’t have a full blown “wedding season” aka a month or two where the only thing we did on weekends was go to weddings. Last weekend we did have our only fall wedding to attend for my cousin. It was a perfect September day around 75 degrees and such a fun time seeing all my cousins and family for one big party. They had an amazing band play their wedding and I happen to believe that a good band can make a wedding :).

The wedding turned out to be the perfect excuse to wear this cape dress I received from Leota. It’s like a classic little black dress, but there’s nothing basic about this one! The cape silhouette is so versatile- you can wear it to the back, the front, draped around you like a shawl when you get cold in church (not like I did that…) and it looks totally chic too. Not only did I receive so many compliments about this dress last weekend, but it was super fun to wear on the dance floor. There’s truly no better dancing accessory than a cape, let me say 😉 ! I had first tried a Leota dress earlier this year, but in a more office appropriate style so I loved finding out that their dresses are just as lovely for weekend events as well.

Do you have a lot of weddings to attend this fall? Would you wear a caped dress?

xoxo, Jenna

Wow, I would have never guessed this was Leota. Very chic! A cape dress is perfect for Fall because you never know what the weather is going to be like. I bet it was fun to dance with too!

Thanks Sarah! You are so right about the dress being great for fall- the weather this day was actually gorgeous, but I was a bit chilly inside the church during the ceremony due to the AC so the cape was the perfect wrap as well!
