Back at it with volume four of what I’m reading, watching and listening to. We haven’t quite had the fall weather I was hoping to cozy up with this past month as it has been more of an Indian Summer, but that’s okay too! Here’s what I’ve been reading, watching and listening to- make sure to leave your recs in the comments too!
What I’m Reading:
Crazy Rich Asians: Finally read this popular chick lit book and I flew through it. It’s a quick romantic read about a girl who falls in love with a guy from an uber-rich family in Singapore. I loved it and definitely have book 2 in the series on my list to read next.
P.S. From Paris: Another romantic book- this one really reminded me of the movie, Notting Hill. It tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a famous actress hiding out in Paris and a novelist. I kind of wished there was more to this book, but maybe because the story felt kind of familiar it felt a tad predictable.
Miss You: This book tells the story of a boy and a girl- they met for literally a few seconds as teenagers traveling through Florence. Over the next several years their paths come close to crossing… until they finally meet again. The characters are well written and I really liked reading this one. If you liked the book One Day, you’ll like this one.
What I’m reading next: Well book two from the Crazy Rich Asian series called China Rich Girlfriend. I still have Everything I Never Told You, Cork Dork and Saints For All Occasions on my nightstand to read and I also downloaded Mary Kubica’s latest book, Every Last Lie for my thriller fix.
What I’m Watching:
The Sinner: If you are a fan of thriller type books, would definitely recommend watching The Sinner. Jessica Biel is a wife and mom who seemingly randomly kills a man in broad daylight at the beach with her family. From there you are struggling to figure out what happened next along with all the characters in the show.
Home Again: You guys know I love me some Reese! I went to the movies with one of my girlfriends to see this one and it was seriously so cute. Reese is recently separated, mom of two who moved back to her dad’s (now her) house in LA. Just one of those movies you feel good and are smiling during. Oh and the guys in it are very very cute! Definitely recommend renting this one when it comes out for a night in.
Baby Driver: On the complete opposite side of the movie spectrum… if you are looking for something to watch that both you and your guy will like, try Baby Driver. Baby is the getaway driver for bank heists. He’s absolutely adorable, but also a crazy badass driver. Your guy will love the driving and the action scenes, you’ll love the romance with the gorgeous Lily James.
What I’m watching next: I’m of course keeping up with my faves like This is Us, but am also looking forward to the return of Stranger Things pretty soon!
What I’m Listening To:
Crimetown: Since my commute has drastically been cut down when changing jobs (yay!), I have a bit less time to listen to podcasts, but I started Crimetown a few weeks ago and really loving it. It’s all about Providence and the mix of mafia and the political system there. Super interesting to listen to!
