While I like to share funny stories every once in a while about MJD’s reaction to my outfits (will never forget when he asked if we were having a picnic on this shirt), the truth is we both lean towards classic styles most of the time. One of the brands we absolutely love for classic pieces is Barbour. Whether its a coat, a scarf, vest or even a weekend bag, we definitely agree that their pieces are some of our closet favorites. Barbour has also been pretty clutch when it comes to planning gifts for MJD as I know he’ll love whatever I pick out! Something to keep in mind with the holidays coming up 😉.
Both MJD and I were so excited to show off our newest Barbour jackets from their quilted collection this past weekend. It was the perfect fall weather for it, but disappointingly the leaves haven’t changed too much in the city- it’s crazy! Kinda had to fake fall in our pics!
Since I was able to convince MJD to appear in a blog post finally (well really Barbour did that…), I thought I’d share a few things about the two of us!
How we met: We met in Spring of 2010 thanks to a mutual friend- well at least that is how I tell the story. I was at a bar here in Boston with some of my girlfriends to celebrate a friend’s birthday. My best friend’s boyfriend showed up with his friend that he hadn’t seen in like five years. That friend is now my husband! If you ask MJD how we met, he’d very succinctly say he picked me up in a bar (men!).
Our engagement: We had been living together for a few months and I was definitely hoping an engagement was on the horizon (just being honest!). When MJD asked me to go golfing one afternoon in May, I can confidently say I had no idea that would be the day. On the fourth hole with a gorgeous view, he proposed! Lots of tears from there. Of course MJD was playing really well and asked if we could finish the nine holes. I obviously said no! That night we went to dinner at the same restaurant where we had our first date and he even arranged for us to be sitting at the same table. So cute! Golf hasn’t ever been quite as fun, but I do love getting to see the spot where it all went down whenever we play!
Are you guys fans of Barbour as well? Did you like this his & hers post- should we get MJD to do more? 😉
xoxo, Jenna

Yes it’s your turn for sure! We love their jackets! They are fabulous!
My first date with my husband was snowshoeing and we ended up on the ninth hole at the golf course. We stopped for a snack of some crackers, cheese, wine and dark chocolate. This was a blind date and those are my favourites so he scored well for a first time effort. It’s funny that we golf together but have never golfed at that course!
Thanks for the memory!
