This outfit (if you can even call it an outfit) may look a bit familiar from my recent post on baby essentials aka diapers and wipes with BJ’s. While it is a super basic jeans, tee and sneakers look, it is pretty spot on to what I’ve been wearing the last few weekends. Figured while I was at it with my third trimester uni (minus the diaper bag), I’d share a quick pregnancy update and a little bit about my current shopping strategy.
I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and honestly cannot believe how the time has flown! The first trimester was a little tough with nausea, but once the second trimester started I feel like it flew by. I think a combination of Christmas/holidays in December followed by a busy January and February at work really accelerated that. With just six weeks until our due date, I really can’t complain too much. Of course I have some nights of restless sleep, just like most women at this point. The main two things I’ve been dealing with recently is sciatica and swollen feet! I’ve had sciatica on one side for a while, but as baby boy has gotten bigger it’s a bit worse. I’ve started foam rolling on the regular and also getting an occasional pre-natal massage to work some of that tension out. With both of those things, I’m typically a little more sore that same day, but things feel much better the day after. This whole pregnancy I’ve found it pretty amazing how accurate some of the apps are with what to expect during each week. My swollen feet came in right in time π They definitely are worse if I spend a lot of the day standing, especially in shoes without support. Avoiding heels and wearing more comfy/supportive shoes has actually helped both the sciatica symptoms and the swelling for me- hence the sneaks in today’s post π
As far as shopping right now, I’m not doing much for myself as I’m thinking/hoping my weeks in maternity wear are numbered. When I have been shopping for myself I’ve pretty much focused on nursing friendly styles that I can use when I am hopefully nursing once baby boy arrives. The cardi I am wearing today is a good example of this- it is non-maternity,but fits fine with a bump as long as you don’t tie it. While it works with my basic maternity tee, it should work just as well layered over a nursing tank.
With the last few weeks of pregnancy coming up, I’m not sure how many full blown “fashion”/”outfit” posts I’ll be bringing you guys, but we will see! Are there any other specific topics you would want me to cover? Love hearing from all of you, so please drop me a note or comment with anything you want me to write about. Thanks for indulging me and reading this kind of long and random post today!
xoxo, Jenna
