When it came time to plan a babymoon, MJD and I decided to keep things local and visit somewhere in New England. Living in Boston, we are very lucky that there are so many great cities and towns just a short driving distance away. We settled on visiting Portsmouth and were so grateful to my friends at Lark Hotels for hosting our stay at the Hotel Portsmouth. I had stayed at a Lark Hotel before during last spring’s visit to Kennebunkport and I knew one of their hotels would be the perfect venue for a relaxing babymoon together!
As soon as we pulled up to the Hotel Portsmouth, MJD and I were very excited to spend time there. The Hotel Portsmouth has an equal feel of boutique hotel and bed & breakfast. Hotel Portsmouth’s location is ideal for anyone looking to explore the town- it was a short walking distance from the restaurants and shops of downtown Portsmouth as well as the waterfront and some of the parks in town.
Upon walking in, guests at the Hotel Portsmouth are greeted with two beautiful lounge areas, making a perfect spot to spend time relaxing. MJD and I spent a good amount of time in front of the fireplace in one of their lounges, just hanging out and also playing games (they have chess and cards for guests). I absolutely fell in love with the navy blue decorated room- you know how much I love navy #navyornothing and the decor in this room was fabulous. Another great spot within the hotel? The breakfast room! Gotta love a gorgeous room where they serve the amazing Lark Hotels breakfast- every Lark Hotel serves a delish breakfast spread each morning.
While the common guest areas are welcoming and beautiful, the guest rooms are just as stunning. Our room was cozy, inviting and a great spot for downtime between exploring Portsmouth. My favorite feature of our room was the gorgeous bathtub which I definitely enjoyed using for a little bit of pampering.
Whether you are looking for a new town to explore in New England, a spot for your own babymoon or just a beautiful hotel to visit for some R&R, I couldn’t recommend the Hotel Portsmouth enough! Thank you to Lark Hotels for hosting us for our babymoon- truly a weekend we will always remember 🙂
xoxo, Jenna
