I am a total snail mail lover- both sending and receiving! I’m all about sending Christmas cards, birthday cards or a random card just because it reminded me of someone. Before Nicholas was born, I knew I wanted to send out birth announcements to formally introduce our little man. In the world of social media, it’s pretty easy to instantly share the news with a quick Facebook or Instagram post. I mean I know I did. But call me old fashioned, I still love the idea of sending out a formal birth announcement as well. To me it’s a way to share an actual printed photo- which is something we also rarely do with iPhones.
After using Minted for our wedding Save The Dates and our first Christmas card as a married couple, it’s become a favorite stationery spot for life’s special events. There really isn’t anything more special than a new baby- and of course Minted has so many gorgeous options for birth announcements. I spent quite a bit of time browsing for my favorites. Some of my favorite birth announcement designs were the Stately Monogram, the Little Hello, the Chic Baby and the Big Script. To narrow things down, I love that you can “heart” and save your favorites to look at with preview of the actual picture you want to use. This really helped me with making my final choice for Nicholas’ birth announcement. I picked the Stately Monogram design and loved this classic design- you guys, know I love a good monogram!- plus the colors were very complimentary to the picture I wanted to use.
As a new mama, Minted‘s free addressing service makes me very happy! I don’t have time for addressing all those envelopes and I am sure you don’t either. Plus there are a number of addressing options- each one is better looking than the next. I love the big blue “To” I choose for our envelope design.
Minted also offers this genius “text your photo” service for birth announcements, save the dates and graduation announcements. As part of this service you can text in your photo and their design experts will send you back five different card options. This definitely helps save time with the many many options to choose from!
Nicholas’ birth announcements are definitely my favorite piece of snail mail that I’ve ever sent. Hard to top! Hopefully our family and friends love getting the announcements in their mailbox as much as we loved sending them!
Are you as much of a fan of snail mail as I am?
