Oh Instagram, how I love you and hate you. Or mainly how I hate my lack of self control when it comes to the mindless scrolling or getting sucked into watching IG stories! What I do love is when you see something on Instagram that inspires you or motivates you to try something new- the reason why I love it (besides the pretty pictures 😉 )! A few weeks ago during an IG stories binge, my friend Jessica from Oh, I Design posted a nighttime skincare tip I’ve been using ever since. I had to share it with all of you!
The tip she shared? Do your nighttime skincare routine EARLIER in the night to allow all the goodness of the products time to soak into your skin. Jessica made a comment would you rather your products were on your skin or your pillowcase and honestly it made a lot of sense to me! I had been doing nighttime skincare routine right before bed and would basically climb in to bed shortly after. It had me thinking how much of my routine wasn’t even fully absorbed yet!
For the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to do my nighttime skincare routine about two hours before going to bed. I do honestly feel like it is giving my skin a chance to soak it all in more. Very important because many of the overnight products I use are anti-aging focused so need any extra help I can get! The only person who may be experiencing a downside from this is my hubby as it now means I am makeup free and in my pajamas earlier 😉
