After a week down the Cape for Fourth of July celebrations with fam, we are back home and getting back into our routine. On Sunday night after the holiday weekend, I noticed a lot of people posting about their Sunday scaries. Not fun at all! With summer time being peak vacation season, I think each of us are bound to have a little bit of the post-vacation blues. I try really hard not to wallow in those for too long and be productive when I get home. I follow these three tips for beating those post-vaca blues (or long weekend Sunday scaries!):
- Unpack and do laundry the day you get home. As much as this stinks, ultimately I feel so much better and like I have my life together when my bags are unpacked and my things are put away. Getting the laundry done as soon as possible prevents the dread of it piling up even more.
- Plan ahead for grocery delivery to help you get back into your routine. I think grocery delivery is the best invention ever! It’s so awesome to outsource this especially after a vacation so that you don’t have to waste time at the grocery store. Set up your order on your fave delivery service a few days before you return (you can do it while on the beach 😉 ) and schedule the delivery for shortly after you get home to make getting back into your routine that much easier.
- Give yourself something to look forward to on your first night home. Whether you are planning to catch up on the shows you missed watching, going to do a little self care sheet mask session to recover from the sun or plan to order your favorite takeout, I think having something to look forward to on that first night home makes getting all your other “to-do’s” a bit easier. To help our post-vaca blues, we started the new season of Stranger Things.
If you are more interested in my outfit than these tips, hope you like this J.Crew top! It is so pretty- the details are beautiful, with lace trim, tiered sleeves and a peplum hem. I am wearing a size small, maybe could have worn an extra small, but I received it just before our vacation so went with it. The earrings I am wearing are an acrylic hoop that I randomly picked up at Target from their line with BaubleBar. Since I’ve been wearing my statement earrings less and less as my little guy loves to pull on them, I’m loving the price point- this pair was only $13! These ones also come in tortoise. Also sorry, I’m not sorry for the number of pictures I’ve been posting on Instagram with hydrangea backgrounds- can’t help myself!
