Halloween is a few weeks away and so I’m taking full advantage of candy corn season and all the Trader Joe’s treats that are available before the holiday! This past weekend my sister was visiting and since we both are obsessed with all things candy corn and Trader Joe’s seasonal delights, we decided to make a little Halloween inspired popcorn mix. This isn’t a real recipe, more just an idea of what you could mix up for your own Halloween movie night. This popcorn mix would also make a super cute party favor for a Halloween party- you can add it to individual popcorn boxes like these orange and black ones.
For our Trader Joe’s Halloween Popcorn mix, we combined:
- One bag of Maple & Sea Salt Kettle Corn
- One bag of Candy Corn Popcorn
- One bag of pretzels
- 1/2 of a cup chocolate chips (add more or less depending how sweet you want)
Just combine all of those ingredients in a bowl and then you can dig in while watch one of the movies listed below! The chocolate chips tend to sink towards the bottom of the bowl so maybe sprinkle them in as you combine. And obviously you don’t have to follow these ingredients- swap in your fave popcorn or kettle corn, add actual candy corn if you don’t have access to TJ’s for the candy corn popcorn- the list is basically to give you ideas!
As much as I love Halloween treats, I do NOT like scary movies so my Halloween movie taste is extremely juvenile. Honestly the last scary movie I saw was The Ring in high school and I’m still scared of. That is the level of scaredy cat I am 🙂 If you don’t like being scared either, these are a few of the movies that do get me in the mood for the spooky season without any nightmares after!
Five Non-Scary Halloween Movies To Watch:
- Hocus Pocus
- Teen Witch
- Halloween Town
- Edward Scissorhands
Are you a fan of candy corn and would you try candy corn popcorn? Do you watch scary movies before Halloween?
