Favorite Toys for Crawling and Sitting Babies

List of best toys for babies

Last year around the holidays I remember feeling a bit unsure as a first time mom what toys were appropriate for Nicholas and what he would actually play with. Living in an apartment at the time, we definitely didn’t want a lot of things around that weren’t going to be used for months and months until he was old enough to play with them. I was lucky to have friends that gave me a bunch of great ideas for this age group and in case you are a first time parent feeling the same way or you are an aunt, uncle or grandparent to a little one, I wanted to share some of our favorite toys for crawling and sitting babies. Stacking toys, balls and baby approved cars were Nicholas’ favorites and he still plays with many of these toys even today at 18 months old! By the way- all of these items are available on Amazon so no need to worry about when you shop with Prime shipping 🙂

One. Fisher Price Rock a Stack Rings

Two. Baby Einstein Take Along Musical Toy

Three. Melissa & Doug Soft Activity Book

Four. Melissa & Doug Stacking Block Set

Five. Baby Einstein Roller Activity Balls

Six. Melissa & Doug Pull-Back Cars

Seven. Fisher Price Baby’s First Blocks and Shape Sorter

Eight. My First Sports Bag

Nine. The First Years Stacking Cups

Ten. Baby Einstein Balancing and Stacking Toy

Board books also make fantastic gifts for little ones- I know my little guy loves them! If you are looking for some book recs, check out our list of favorite lift-the-flap books.

Update- It’s almost a year later and I’m revisiting this post before holiday shopping picks up and had to share that Nicholas is still playing with some of these toys almost two years later! The stacking cups are a favorite bath toy and the Melissa & Doug cars are great for racing.

Any other favorites for sitters and crawlers? Leave your faves in the comments!

xoxo, Jenna
