The Daily Habit That Makes It Easier To Get Out The Door With Two Kids

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Shaw’s Supermarket. All opinions are 100% mine.

A few weekends ago we were heading out the door and MJD turned to me and said takes a lot to get these two out the door right? Yes babe yes it does 😉

Getting a toddler ready to go somewhere is a feat in itself, but adding newborn to the mix takes things to the next level. While we aren’t going too many places due to the current pandemic, I do like to get out of the house every day with the boys whether it is for a walk, a visit to our local community farm or picking up books curbside at the library. Peter is only six weeks old so I cannot claim to be any sort of parent of two guru, but I’ve started doing something new each night that helps alleviate some of that getting out the door stress.

Each night before I go to bed I take inventory of our diaper bag and restock it with anything I may have finished off or used the day before- whether that is wipes, diapers, a change of clothes because someone got dirty the day before, snacks, whatever it may be. I also pack anything specific I may need for the next day’s plans. For example if we are planing on doing a curbside pick up at a store 15 minutes away, I’ll pack a book or two for Nicholas to look through in the car. Doing this every night has really helped minimize how much I scramble to get out the door and lets me focus on getting Nicholas and Peter ready to go out.

Besides the obvious diaper and wipes, I ALWAYS have our bag stocked with snacks. Snacks can be a bit of a cure all in our house when it comes to toddler mood swings. We recently tried some O Organics® snacks which were delicious and have been a new go-to for the diaper bag. All 1500 O Organics products are high-quality, USDA-certified organic which makes me feel good about feeding them to my family. Our favorite O Organics snacks are the string cheese, raisins, cheddar lions crackers and applesauce pouches. I love the individual packaged items because they make it easy to grab quickly and pack easily. If Nicholas was at school age, I know these would be a school lunch essential. You can Shop O Organics® line of products is in just about every aisle at your local Shaw’s Supermarket here in New England or exclusively at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Star Market, and Tom Thumb. If you are still avoiding going to the store in person as much as possible like I am, Shaw’s also offers Grocery Delivery and Pick Up as convenient and safer shopping options.

What are some of your favorite grab and go snacks to have on hand? Do you have any habits that help make your day a bit smoother? Share them in the comments so we can all learn- bonus points if they involve kids!

xoxo, Jenna
