Shop Small: My Favorite Small Businesses for Kids

Joy Street Kids– Our favorite jammies! Joy Street Kids’ clothing is made from super soft Pima cotton and hand illustrated. Designs include so many different places, like Boston, NYC, Cape Cod, Nantucket, The North Pole and more, so you’ll be sure to find one for your (or your littles) favorite place. They are also available at For Now, one of my favorite spots to shop in Boston!

The Red Wagon– The roll neck sweaters at Red Wagon are amazing and if you are an Aunt/Uncle, parents would be very happy receiving one of these as a gift! The sizing is a bit more generous than typical kids sizing I think which is great because they can get a little extra wear out of them.

The Bedlam Street Company– A friend of mine started this company offering many beautiful personalized pieces. We are loving the boys Christmas sweaters personalized by Bedlam Street for this year and Eve, the owner, is donating 10% of sales to Room To Grow, a fantastic organization helping families with children under the age of 3 in Boston and New York.

Play Wilder Toys For getting out energy and your climbing loving kids, we love our Pilker triangle with a slide and rock climbing ramp. We purchased ours from Play Wilder which is US business with all items made in the US as well!

Tiny Hanger– We love Tiny Hanger and are lucky to have one in our town. They sell many brands that we love like Bogs, See Kai Run, Egg, Joules and Mayoral. It is one of the places I often shop when I need a special outfit for my kids or a gift.

MerriMane– The most beautiful outerwear pieces for kids! Merrimane’s classic, tailored jackets and vests are hand -me-down worthy. I love that their pieces look amazing, but are machine washable. PS- I did an interview with founder Jasmine which gives a lot more detail about the brand if you are interested!

Stitched Needham– A local to Boston mom owned business that offers beautiful personalized pieces for more than just kids, but lots of great gift ideas if you like monograms 🙂

Magic Beans– Baby gear, toys, books- Magic Beans has it all! The team there is so knowledgeable and it is definitely one of my favorite places to shop for items for my kids or gifts for other children in our life.

Winter Water Factory Winter Water’s cotton pieces are made in the USA and feature unique patterns that both you and your kids will love. Trucks, animals, ballerinas- the prints are some of the cutest I have seen when it comes to kid’s clothing!

Magic Playbook– The Magic Playbook is a subscription service that provides seasonal activity ideas that you can do with your kids. I think it is best suited for kids over the age of 3, but we did start using some of it when Nicholas was 2, just required a lot more hands on help from mom. If you like to do craft or sensory activities with your child, I would definitely recommend! This would also make a great grandparent gift.

Do you have any favorite small businesses you love to shop at for your kids? I’d love to learn more about them!

xoxo, Jenna
