A Royal Bridal Shower

It’s pretty hard to believe as I write this that my bridal shower was actually almost four years ago, but it’s true! With Harry & Meghan’s Royal Wedding right around the corner, it seemed like the perfect time to share the best bridal shower theme ever (I may or may not be biased)- a Royal Bridal Shower!

As you probably already know, I’m royal obsessed and Duchess Kate is definitely one of my all time girl crushes. When it came time for my ladies in waiting (aka my bridesmaids, my mom and mother-in-law) to plan my bridal shower, they pretty quickly settled on the theme of a Royal inspired shower. Now I really can’t take credit for any of these ideas because everything besides the date of the shower was a surprise for me, but I’m excited to share the deets with you today anyways.  And just in case you have a shower for your own Crown-loving friend to plan for, I’m adding in links for some of the same or similar items to make party planning super easy! Here are my tips for throwing a fabulous Royal Bridal Shower:

Set the tone with your royally inspired invitation- I am a paper fanatic so invitations are important to me and I think they can really set the tone for a party. For a royal themed shower, there are a lot of options- both subtle and more overt- that show off the theme. I think a pretty invitiation with a Royal Crest at the top (like this one and this one) is my favorite option for inviting guests to a shower fit for a royal, but I also found some pretty invite options with crowns on them too. Make sure to call out your theme on the invite and also use fun wording to play things up- like how my gals said the party was hosted by my “ladies in waiting”. I think those little details make it extra special!

Invite your guests to wear their finest hats and fascinators– The best part about any royal wedding is definitely the fashion and mainly the hats, right? Ask your guests to come wearing their finest- be sure to call it out on the invitation. If you are surprising the bride with the theme (like I was surprised) be sure to have a hat for her that you know will coordinate with her outfit. White always works for a bride 🙂

Serve British inspired cocktails or drinks- Y’all know I love a signature cocktail! For a Royal Shower, a Pimm’s Cup- favorite of the Royal Family- is definitely the way to go. If you are hosting at a venue, ask the waitstaff to serve these on trays to keep the theme going or if hosting at home, be sure to prep a few pitchers or a drink dispenser ahead of time to allow for easy serving. Another way to incorporate the British theme into your food and drink? Try serving an afternoon tea complete with tea sandwiches, mini-desserts and of course tea!

What are some of your favorite details from bridal showers you’ve attended?

xoxo, Jenna
