Three Easy Homemade Valentine’s Day Treats
Happy Valentine’s Day week!
I’m excited to share three super easy, but super yummy Valentine’s Day treats you can make at home to share with friends, your significant other and even your kids (or their classmates!). These treats take a minimal amount of time to make so they would be fine to make the night before a Valentine’s party or the 14th without feeling like you had to stay up all night! If you have older kids, I think they would love to help with making them as well.
So head to your closest Target and stock up on the Valentine’s colored M&Ms and sprinkles and then head back here to make some festive sweet and salty treats!
xoxo, Jenna
Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods
MJD and I both love sweet and salty so these are our favorite and we make them for other holidays just changing the colors
You’ll Need:
Pretzel rods
1 cup of semi sweet chocolate for every dozen pretzel
Valentine’s Day sprinkles (I love getting these at HomeGoods or Target)
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
To Make:
Melt the chocolate using either a double boiler or in the microwave. If using microwave, pay close attention to prevent any burning.
Arrange a cookie sheet or platter with parchment paper.
Dip pretzel rod into melted chocolate until desired amount of pretzel is covered in chocolate.
Sprinkle the Valentine’s Day sprinkle onto the wet chocolate covering as much of the chocolate as possible.
Place pretzel rod on the parchment paper lined tray to set.
Continue until all chocolate is used or until you reach your desired amount.
Place tray in fridge to set for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Valentine’s Day M&M and Pretzel Bites
You’ll Need:
Pretzel Snaps
Hershey’s Kisses
Valentine’s Day Colored M&Ms
Cookie sheet lined with parchment paper
To Make:
Preheat oven to 250 Degrees F.
While oven is preheating, arrange pretzels on the lined cookie sheet.
Top pretzels with an unwrapped Hershey’s kiss.
Bake in oven for about four minutes or when the kisses appear slightly shiny and melted.
Remove cookie sheet from oven.
Immediately top the pretzel-kiss combination with a Valentine’s Day colored M&M.
Place cookie sheet in fridge to set for at least thirty minutes.
These pretzel bites will stay good up to one week in an airtight container.
Valentine’s Day Popcorn Mix
You’ll Need:
Bag of your favorite popcorn
Two cups of white chocolate
One cup of Valentine’s Day M&Ms
Valentine’s Day Sprinkles
Cookies sheet lined with parchment paper
To Make:
Prepare your favorite popcorn according to package directions.
Pour and spread popcorn onto cookie sheet in a single layer.
Using either a double boiler or microwave, melt the white chocolate, keeping a close eye not to burn.
Pour melted white chocolate over the popcorn and stir with a baking spatula to coat.
Sprinkle M&Ms on top and lightly stir or shake the tray to distribute.
Top with Valentine’s Day themed sprinkles for an additional pop of color.
Allow to set at room temperature for at least one hour before serving.
For a party, serve in a large bowl. As a favor or gift, package in cellophane bag and tie with ribbon.
