Boston Buzz: The Kitchen at the Boston Public Market

A few weeks ago MJD and I were lucky enough to have a special date night thanks to The Kitchen at the Boston Public Market. The Kitchen is Boston Public Market’s educational section offering hands-on cooking classes that focus on preparing meals from the seasonal foods offered within the market.

Because we hadn’t had enough Italian food recently (kidding guys 🙂 ), we tried their Farm-to Table Flavors of Florence and Tuscany cooking class. It was such a fun experience to cook together with our classmates and learn a few new items that we could make at home. During these cooking classes, you’ll be at a table with a few other people and have the opportunity to cook right at your station. We made appetizers, a main chicken dish and a sauce during our class. Our instructor Leiza was serious #goals- she had so many great ideas of how to host dinner parties and I was seriously impressed by her commitment to cooking seasonally for her family. Leiza lived in the Florence/Tuscany region so it was even more special to learn some of her recipes. I thought it was really cool that the class focuses on preparing items that could all be purchased in the market.

We made two different types of bruschetta- one traditional and another mushroom version in our class, followed by a braised chicken served with fresh Nella pasta that you can buy in the market. The pasta was topped with a pesto sauce we made during the class too. The Farm-to- Table class is one of the regular classes that is on the schedule pretty frequently and you’ll have a chance to check out the menu when you go to book the class.  The menu should be similar to what we prepared in concept, but as the class is all seasonally based it would definitely depend on the time of year you are visiting.

Cooking classes at The Kitchen at the Boston Public Market make for an amazing date night, girls night out or a fun gift idea! It’s a really fun and different way to spend a night. Thanks to the Boston Public Market for inviting us to try out the complimentary class for our date night! We will be back again soon- maybe see some of you there?

xoxo, Jenna

FYI- I received a complimentary class for two in exchange for my review of The Kitchen at Boston Public Market.
