Where I Find Home Decor Inspiration

Well, we’ve been in our new place three weeks now and we still have a good amount of empty space just waiting for furniture :). I may or may not be kind of failing at the whole decorating process, but I’m blaming it on the fact that furniture takes so long! Our whole buying process moved pretty fast- so even though I ordered our couch a few weeks before we closed, the 8 to 10 week timeline on that means we are living without a couch for a bit.

With that being said, I do want to be thoughtful about how I am decorating our place and have been spending a lot of time browsing, pinning, researching and shopping. The following sites are the places I’ve found endless amounts of home décor inspo… I’d be lost without them!

The Everygirl Home Tours

The Everygirl’s collection of home tours is amazing- and features a variety from bachelorette pads to couples, to studios to houses. I’ve spent so much time perusing them and check back for a fresh dose of inspiration every time they post something new. Check out their top ten tours from 2015 for some of the highlights.

Domino

Domino is a one-stop shop for anything and everything home décor. They have everything  from articles on Ikea hacks to the best paint colors and decorating your bar cart. One of my favorite features is that you can browse their endless supply of décor pics by room and by color. The one above came from the gray living room section which I’ve been frequently visiting.

Lark & Linen

I actually learned about Lark & Linen from Domino after they were placed on their 2016 best design blogs list– and boy, am I glad I did. Jacquelyn Clark is the Toronto-based interior designer behind the blog, formerly of Style Me Pretty Living. Talk about some pretty amazing credentials. Anyways, her style is impeccable and I am loving getting her design tips via the web. This picture is one I’m pinning and saving for forever as our place has a similar open floor plan!

Fashionable Hostess

I’ve been following along with Amanda for years as she’s lived in NYC, Tennessee and now Miami. Not only has she flawlessly decorated each of her homes, but she shares so many fun entertaining ideas that leave me wanting to throw endless parties. The kitchen in her Miami home reminds me of our kitchen (get a peak here!) so I love seeing how she is styling, accessorizing and entertaining in it.

Pinterest

Obviously this is an easy one, but Pinterest is one of my top places to search for decor inspo! It’s also how I save all my ideas in one place which helps identify common colors, looks, styles that I am attracted to. Another great way to use Pinterest is to search on it for items you’ve already seen that you like to see how others use them in real life. My mom did this for a kitchen table we were looking at and seeing it in someone else’s kitchen made me like the table even more! Come pin along with me here 🙂

Any other places I should be checking out as we begin to decorate our new home?

xoxo, Jenna

I got so excited when I saw the subject of this post!! I truly adore ID almost as much as fashion. I love seeing that you find so much inspiration on line (blog’s and Pinterest). We just finished a major master bedroom/bathroom and closet renovation and I think it all came together with a collection of pics from Houzz :-)))))

It is super hard- it can be tricky for sure, especially with colors. I find my hardest part is just making a decision 🙂
